Ed was born and raised in the Town of Lagrange, in Dutchess County. A graduate of Arlington High School, Ed was active in Scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He served his country in the United States Army Reserve and NY State National Guard in medical and military police units and was granted an Honorable Discharge.
in 1988, Ed began his nearly 26-year law enforcement career with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office and retired from the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department in 2013 with the rank of Detective Lieutenant. While working full time, Ed completed his BA at Marist College and earned his law degree at Pace University School of Law, being admitted to the New York State Bar in 2003. He also holds a MS from the University of Florida.
Since 2004, Ed has practiced law in the Dutchess County (NY) area, and has focused primarily on representing clients in the sale and purchase of residential homes as well as lender representation, but has also represented clients in matters regarding public sector labor law, employment law, estate planning, probate and estate administration, landlord- tenant law, family and matrimonial law. In July of 2020, Ed established this solo practice with the goal of focusing on all aspects of real estate law.
In his spare time, Ed enjoys playing the bagpipes with the Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes and Drums. You may see him at St. Patrick's Day parades and fundraisers across the Hudson Valley.
